FREMONT, CA — March 2012 — Datest, a leading provider of advanced, efficient, and quality in-circuit testing and inspection solutions, has been selected by GOEPEL Electronic as the demonstration site for the new OptiCon X-Line High-Speed 3-D Inline Automated X-ray Inspection System. Datest received the system off the show floor following the recent IPC APEX EXPO in San Diego.

The inline inspection system will enable Datest to detect voids quickly using digital tomosynthesis. Datest can now provide 3-D top- and bottom-side X-ray inspection of double-sided PCBs at speeds of up to 40cm²/s using revolutionary GigaPixel™ technology. Full-sized 3-D X-ray inspection (AXI) allows layered analysis of all solder joints of a PCB within the production process. Additionally, the system features the fastest test program generation by means of effective library usage as well as safe fault analysis using descriptive visualization.

Rob Boguski, Datest’s President, commented about the recent acquisition: “Datest is honored to have been selected by GOEPEL as its partner for introducing the OptiCon X-Line 3-D AXI System to the North American market. Datest’s years of X-ray experience position us well to participate in the unveiling of this next-generation of cutting-edge AXI technology.”

"A 3-D AXI system that is fast enough to be used inline for critical cycle time products is a very important step in AXI technology development. GOEPEL USA is very happy to be working with a capable partner like Datest to bring this technology to the U.S. market," commented David Whetstone, GOEPEL USA’s Director of Sales and Business Development.
